We're at the Duluth Children's Museum in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Duluth.
My name is Drew Jensen, And I'm the.
executive director We started in 1930.
And just a one school room.
Schoolhouse.
Children's museums are important because they provide a safe space for kids and families to kind of grow and learn together.
Social emotional skills are practiced here.
We get to expose kids to really cool, hands on activities that might plant a seed for future career development and really fun things for them to explore in the future.
Mabel Wing and our founders were really wanting to expose Duluth, families and educators to artifacts from all around the world.
So we are fortunate enough to have over 10,000 artifacts in our collection.

two great Museum Educator interns from UMD who are going through our collection and adding it to an online database.
Our team is small but mighty, but we all wear different hats.
Well, this is our Cocoa Cart.
I built this entirely from salvaged materials.
As we enter spring and summer here, we're going to have a nice farmer's market set up.
We've completed renovations on the first floor, and are really looking to expand and grow and expand into our second floor.
Step number one is going to be fundraising about $700,000 for an elevator to go in the back of our building.
In December we were fortunate enough to purchase a new outreach vehicle, just a fun space to come into while in Duluth.
