A perpetual student is mistaken for a government official in a small European village.
(1949) In a musical comedy starring Danny Kaye, Barbara Bates, and Walter Slezak, the simple-minded Georgi stumbles into a corrupt town and is mistaken for the inspector general. As he obliviously enjoys being thrust into a position of power, crooked town officials make multiple attempts to assassinate the imposter. The situation gets extra twisted when the real attorney general shows up.
